ABOUT BILLY ESPOSITO

The organization was launched as a direct result of the death of Billy Esposito on September 11, 2001.

Billy EspositoBilly Esposito was born in Brooklyn, New York, to parents Susan and Michael Esposito and older brother Michael. He attended John Jay High School, graduating in 1968. While in high school he worked part time at Walston & Co. in the P & S department and at Simco Shoes in downtown Brooklyn, where Stevie's dad, Seymour, was his boss.

Stevie and BillyBudd Lake, NJ, was where Billy met his wife Stevie, and where they spent summers together since they were ten years old. Billy's parents and Stevie's grandparents owned summer homes near one another. They began dating at 15 years old and were married on September 16, 1972, at Terrace On The Park. They lived in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, and in 1975 they bought a home in Bellmore, Long Island, where the family still resides.

Daughter Susan with BillyOn December 10, 1975, their son, Craig, was born and on February 9, 1978, their daughter, Susan, followed. Billy's relationship with both his children was one that most people dream about. Susan and CraigThey shared a mutual love, admiration and respect. Their bond was unbreakable. He was their best friend and confidant and they knew there was nothing he wouldn't do for them.

As a friend and colleague, Billy earned the nickname Scoop, as he was always the person that knew what was going on. Billy always had a smile on his face and treated everybody like they were part of his family. He always made everyone feel welcome. Whether it was holidays, parties or just a normal family dinner, he always opened his home and family to his friends and colleagues. He rarely spoke about himself, as he was always concerned about everyone else. He was always there for his friends and colleagues - and there are many of them. His generosity, love, compassion and integrity will be sorely missed.

The Esposito family

We have established contacts with Billy's countless personal and professional contacts and have assembled a solid board of directors, Event Committee and other volunteer groups that possess tremendous business and philanthropic experience as well as strong contacts within the New York Metro Area. It is these people that will help build the organization to carry on Billy's legacy. If you would like more information on getting involved in helping us with our efforts, please email us or by making a donation .

The organization works with Kenneth J.Grosso and Darren W. Port, founders of the professional fundraising firm Powered By Professionals, to handle all of the administration and marketing of the organization as well as the planning and execution of our fundraising events.
